Abdul Abdullah and Euan Macleod at Art Gallery of New South Wales

Abdul Abdullah and Euan Macleod are currently on view at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, as part of the 2019 Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes show.

Abdul Abdullah is a finalist in both the Wynne and Sulman Prize, for the works A terrible burden, and Everything ever all at once, whilst Euan Macleod is a finalist in the Archibald Prize, for his painting Four Rodneys.

The Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes is a highly-anticipated annual exhibition held at the museum. The Archibald Prize, first awarded in 1921, is Australia’s favourite art award, and one of its most prestigious. Awarded to the best portrait painting, it’s a who’s who of Australian culture – from politicians to celebrities, sporting heroes to artists. The Wynne Prize is awarded to the best landscape painting of Australian scenery, or figure sculpture, while the Sulman Prize is given to the best subject painting, genre painting or mural project in oil, acrylic, watercolour or mixed media.

The exhibition of the prize winners and finalists is on view until 8 September 2019.
